Fun nature-based activities for all the family
Hogchester is a collaboration between those seeking connection with nature and themselves, through conservation, therapy and the arts. The 70 acre old dairy farm has been largely gifted to nature.
The activities of people carefully preserve the overflowing abundance of life on Hogchester.
Working closely with Dorset Wildlife Trust we nurture all the wondrous creatures that have made Hogchester their home. We reap a harvest of song and flower and warmth. You are most welcome to share this celebration of nature as you walk the land at Hogchester.
Our Charities for 2021
This year we are raising money for two projects through the entrance fee and coffee shop sales.
Edith's Hope is a charity of 15 years standing, working with orphaned children in the Teso region of Uganda. Through education and social work we empower orphan families to overcome extraordinary challenges. We foster independence and bring hope where hope can be hard to find.

Closer to home we are looking to set up horticulture based therapy at Hogchester. Gardening has a long tradition of fostering wellbeing and improving mental health. Bringing ourselves closer to the plants that sustain us is a life affirming experience - as any grower will attest to. We are planning to establish a seed and horticulture venture on a charitable basis to support a wide range of local people. We are raising funds for the infrastructure to begin this project and aim to sow our first seeds in the Autumn. The project will be located by the labyrinth on the map. Registered Charity no 1078770
National Gardens Scheme
On the 3rd of July we will be opening in support of the open gardens scheme.
The National Garden Scheme is the largest funder of Hospice UK’s work and we are incredibly grateful to the garden owners, volunteers and visitors who continue to support hospice care during this crisis, with creativity, innovation and a great passion for the nation’s wellbeing. Thank you all! Registered Charity number 1112664
